dollop Nottingham (October, 2013)

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

We are operating a wristband-exchange at The Rescue Rooms Bar from 4pm-9pm, and we recommend all ticket holders/e-ticket holders come and exchange their tickets/collections for wristbands. This will cut down the queue-times later on.

▬▬▬▬▬

Please note:
ALL email collections must bring the following forms of ID: Ticket reference number (on an email), photo ID (for all ticket holders), debit/credit card.
If a collection is for more than one ticket – all people MUST be present – for example we cannot cross off 2 tickets out of a 5 ticket order because it causes a nightmare later on at the gate, when the original ticket holder isn’t present.

dollop 9th Birthday (Nottingham).

BL160 dollop 9th Birthday flyer-1

On Friday 7th June we will be celebrating our 9th Birthday at Stealth in Nottingham with a sell-out night featuring a line up of some of our favourite DJ’s.

four tet bday strip

In a career that has spanned more than 15 years Kieran Hebden, better known as Four Tet, has consistently strived for innovation.  His earlier work was fearlessly experimental yet decidedly niche in its audience, although recent years have seen him recognised for what he really is: a modern pioneer of electronic music. Seamlessly incorporating an eclectic array of influences to create music that is at once idiosyncratic whilst remaining danceable, Hebden’s 6 albums have enjoyed universal acclaim; simultaneously making him a sought after collaborator by the equally visionary Thom York and Burial.. His diverse appeal has crossed over into his DJ’ing abilities, with the Four Tet name appearing atop the bills of nearly every music focussed club in the world. Equally likely to feature contemporary techno as he is jazz or rough and ready UKG, Hebden DJ sets are something to behold.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

joy o bday strip

Peter O’Grady a.k.a Joy Orbison, achieved instant recognition back in 2009 following the release of the seminal ‘Hyph Mngo’, which effortlessly melded parts of dubstep into house, finding its way into the records bags of everyone from Dollop favourite Oneman, to prog-house legend Sasha. O’Grady’s output since then has proved that was no flash in the pan, with each subsequent release garnering endless plaudits and selling out in record time. Somehow joining the dots between early rave and hardcore, Berlin Techno and classic house, O’ Grady channels these elements into tunes which have consistently reached anthemic status.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

justin martin bday strip

Justin Martin has been delivering quality bass heavy house music for nearly a decade, but it is only with last years fantastic ‘Ghettos and Gardens’ that he truly broke through. His distinctive style finding favour in a scene now infatuated with low end, the likes of ‘Don’t Go’ and ‘The Gurner’  become bona fide club smashes last year. As co-owner of Dirtybird alongside Claude VonStroke, the San-Franciscan has helped nurture the career’s of the likes of Julio Bashmore and Eats Everything, who is now his regular DJ partner and collaborator. The creme de la creme as far as party ready house music goes, the dance floor is always in safe hands when Martin’s on the decks.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

ben ufo bday strip

One third of one of the most agenda setting labels of recent times, Hessle Audio, Ben UFO has scaled the same heights as Pearson Sound and Pangaea, without a single production to his name. Instead he has done so by carving a reputation as one of the finest DJ’s of his generation. With a record collection that audiophiles twice his age would envy, Ben UFO’s sets continually surprise in their track selection although they are eternally underpinned by immaculate mixing. The release of this year’s incendiary Fabric mix confirmed Ben UFO’s pedigree, not only as a DJ but as a taste marker. Now to be heard jumping off at the murky end of Bass Music and submerging himself deep in to techno, where Ben UFO leads, much of the UK underground follows.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

maxxi soundsystem bday strip

Brighton’s Maxxi Soundsystem (a.k.a. Sam Watts) came through the ranks first as a promoter in his hometown, putting on parties with everyone from Mulletover to Tensnake, eventually earning some kudos for his productions with ‘Criticize’ back in 2010. Since that track gained airplay on Radio 1, its all been a bit of a whirlwind for Watts, who has now had releases on some of house music’s leading labels including; Futureboogie, Hypercolour, Hot Natured and Maceo Plex’s Ellum. With his sleazy funk and disco indebted tunes finding favour with record label bosses and music listeners alike, the sky is the limit for Maxxi Soundsystem.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Catch all of these great DJ’s and much more at dollop’s 9th Birthday this Friday at Stealth.
